Eat your words
Just to clear up any confusion: The Book Kitchen doesn’t serve up Kafka with a side of Hemingway and a Shakespeare sauce (it’s widely agreed that paper tastes pretty terrible). Instead you’ll find a delicious menu focused on seasonal, locally grown and biodynamic produce amid shelves heaving with gastronomic books to give you that full food-immersion experience. Casual cafe by day, sophisticated restaurant by night, it’s a great place for a catch-up over breakfast (try the date-and-fig pikelets), a boozy weekday lunch (perhaps some lamb-rump skewers with a cheeky red?) or a date with your sweetheart. With such great food coming out of the Kitchen and shelves piled high with fabulous foodie tomes, you’ll no doubt be inspired to hone your own culinary skills. A literally wonderful find.
